SEVEN Restaurant, located in the city resort VILLA SANDY and awarded with 3 toques by the prestigious Gault&Millau guide, has long been the venue for unique gastronomic events. Among them is the popular culinary dinner series Gourmet Journey, which combines special fine dine menu created by Jozef Hromják – silver medalist Chef of the Year 2025 according to Falstaff Magazine – with wines from renowned wine houses and exceptional family wineries. The tenth edition will bring to Košice a very special guest – the world-famous winery GAJA.

An Icon of Italian Winemaking

The story of the Italian family winery began back in 1859 in Barbaresco, Piemont, when it was founded by Giovanni Gaja. Today, under the leadership of Angelo Gaja – a recognized pioneer in winemaking – it ranks among the world’s leading wine brands. A symbol of elegance and perfection in winemaking, on par with the great names of Bordeaux and Burgundy, GAJA cemented its prestige with the legendary vintage Barbaresco 1985, which Wine Spectator hailed as the best wine ever produced in Italy. Today, GAJA owns vineyards not only in Piemont but also in Tuscany and Sicily, and remains among the absolute global elite. Soon, wine lovers and visitors in Košice will have the chance to experience its excellence firsthand.

A Premium Experience in Košice

On November 27, 2025, GAJA will showcase its treasures in the green heart of Košice at SEVEN Restaurant, during the special anniversary dinner Gourmet wandering X. The world-renowned Italian winemakers will pair their craft with a unique tasting menu created by chef Jozef Hromják, carefully designed to complement GAJA’s wine portfolio.

A Limited Opportunity

Past editions of Gourmet wandering at SEVEN have featured legends such as Château Belá and Egon Müller with the personal presence of Miroslav Petrech, or Piedmont star Bruno Rocca accompanied by co-owner Luisa Rocca, as well as France’s oldest family-owned Champagne house Billecart-Salmon. However, the pairing with the iconic winery GAJA marks nothing less than the gourmet event of the year.
