VILLA SANDY Resort Opens a New Culinary Venue and Multifunctional Hall in Košice

October 15, 2025 – The VILLA SANDY Resort, a beloved destination in the heart of Košice’s City Park, has officially opened its new restaurant and café EMOTI Sharefood Tavern, along with an adjoining multifunctional tennis hall. Both bring a modern concept of shared dining and high-standard sports facilities, once again expanding the resort’s portfolio of experiences for the public in the Eastern Slovak metropolis.

Since its opening in 2024, VILLA SANDY Resort has won the favor of both leisure and business clientele with its wide range of premium services located right in the city center. These services are offered through various operations gradually being opened to the public. Until now, residents and visitors of Košice could enjoy the resort’s outdoor tennis courts, underground parking, and top-quality gastronomy in two of its four planned restaurant and café venues.

While the outdoor parkfood kiosk POINT offers authentic dishes and drinks served in the embrace of the park, the traditional café and premium restaurant SEVEN focuses on experiential fine dining. Thanks to its exceptional quality, SEVEN has become one of the best restaurants in Slovakia, earning three toques from the prestigious GAULT&MILLAU guide and a White Star Award for its wine list from the international STAR WINE LIST.

Now, the Košice resort has expanded its offer with a third restaurant and café concept – EMOTI Sharefood Tavern – and a new multifunctional tennis hall, officially inaugurated on October 15, 2025.

The official opening of EMOTI was hosted by VILLA SANDY’s General Manager Branislav Kováč, while the new tennis hall was symbolically christened by Karol Hingis, the Košice tennis legend and father of world-famous tennis player Martina Hingis. He expressed his joy at seeing tennis return to the City Park and participated in a symbolic match with VILLA SANDY Sports Manager Michal Jánošík and coach Jaroslav Novák. Their friendly duel carried a deeper message — local pride, the connection of generations, and harmony between history and the future — fully in line with the philosophy of the VILLA SANDY resort.

“I am truly happy to be here today. I have wonderful memories of this place because I grew up here. Later, my daughter Martina used to accompany me in her stroller while I played tennis here. Memorable matches were held here, and many well-known tennis personalities came through. I’m glad tennis has returned to the City Park,” said Karol Hingis.

Guests also appreciated the excellent facilities and training opportunities for both children and adult tennis enthusiasts in the new multifunctional hall.

The new EMOTI Sharefood Tavern introduces a unique gastronomic concept to Košice once again. The restaurant and café are built on the sharefood principle — dishes and drinks designed to encourage shared dining and moments together. The open kitchen and bar, which form the heart of EMOTI, perfectly embody this idea, turning guests into participants in a live culinary and bartending performance.

EMOTI also opens new possibilities for hosting events in Košice. In addition to a conference room and private salon, the venue is directly connected to the new multifunctional hall with a capacity of up to 600 guests. Alongside sports activities on two professional GREN SET courts, the hall and EMOTI facilities together provide a generous space for large-scale events.

The menu, curated by Master Chef Jozef Hromják, the Silver Chef of the Year 2025, presents traditional dishes in a modern and stylish form. Representing the New Cuisine of Slovakia as the captain of the Slovak National Culinary Team, Hromják brings this celebrated culinary identity into EMOTI, alongside his Sous-Chef Dominik Demko, who returned to Košice after several years of international experience.

The drink selection at EMOTI continues this philosophy with style — blending tradition and the idea of sharing through an exceptional range of large-format wines and beers, signature cocktails, and distinctively served homemade lemonades.

The opening of EMOTI and the multifunctional hall is part of the VILLA SANDY Resort’s long-term development strategy. In upcoming phases, the resort plans to open the region’s first five-star hotel, a city wellness center, and an additional bar concept. Through this exceptional combination of premium services in the heart of the Eastern Slovak metropolis, VILLA SANDY aims to place Košice firmly on the map of attractive destinations for both leisure and discerning guests.
